Moon.com 1000x Leverage: A 0.1% Move Busts the Bet

Short answer

Yes: Moon offers up to 1000x, and a 0.1% move against you at that level loses the whole wager.

Moon offers leverage of up to 1000x, and its leverage guide says a 0.1% move against a user at that level loses the entire wager. The largest gap is that Moon's documents allow periodic holding fees on open bets but do not mention a rate or charging interval. People who cannot afford to lose the full wager, or who find that betting causes them financial or personal harm, must not use the service, as Moon's own terms say.

Moon.com is a betting platform where users bet with leverage on whether a market price rises or falls, and Moon.com, as the House, takes the other side and runs the service.

How much leverage does Moon.com offer?

Moon.com offers leverage of up to 1000x, as of October 2026. Leverage is the factor that scales how much a price move affects a bet. Moon's help center says the top level depends on the selected market and on market conditions. A user picks the level for each bet before the bet opens.

Moon's terms say leverage may be 1x or greater and that the user selects it when placing a bet. The same clause says leverage sets the bust price of the bet. A bust price is the price level at which the bet settles as lost. The wager is the money a user commits and puts at risk on one bet. Each bet on Moon pairs one wager with one leverage level chosen from the options on the platform.

Moon's leverage guide describes a slider and a typed field for the multiplier, with a range from 1x to 1000x. The guide says a user can change the leverage at any time before the bet opens. It then tells the user to review the position size and the max loss price on the screen. Moon's glossary defines the max loss price as the asset price at which a position reaches its full allowed loss and closes automatically.

Moon's terms call Moon's side of every bet the House. Section 8.4 of the terms, titled House risk management, lets Moon adjust leverage levels, wager limits and payout limits for any market. The same clause lets Moon decline any bet. In extreme cases, it also lets Moon close open bets under Section 7.4. Moon makes these choices at its own discretion, according to the clause.

What does 1000x leverage mean on Moon.com?

On Moon.com, 1000x leverage means a small wager controls a much larger position. Moon's leverage guide gives the example that a $100 wager at 1000x controls a $100,000 position. The guide states the formula as position size equals wager times leverage. Gains and losses both grow with the multiplier.

Moon's guide frames leverage as buying power borrowed from the platform. That borrowed power lets a user open a bet far larger than the user's own money would allow. The guide compares this with a bet at 1x, where $100 buys only $100 worth of an asset. At 1x, the guide says, the asset price would need to double for the user to make $100. Moon's glossary gives a middle case: a $100 wager at 10x gives exposure to $1,000 of the asset.

Moon's documents say leverage scales profits and losses alike. The leverage guide says profits are multiplied by the leverage the user chose. Moon's glossary says even small market moves have a larger effect on a leveraged bet than on a bet without leverage. The guide for a first bet repeats that wagering with leverage raises both potential profits and potential losses. The glossary sums up leverage as a way to bet a larger position with less capital, with gains and losses both magnified.

Moon's glossary says leverage lets a user control a bigger bet than the funds committed to the position. The leverage guide says the same $100 can control a position many times its own size. Moon's terms say the payout of a bet depends on the price movement of its market. Moon's fee guide says the opening fee, as of October 2026, is based only on the wager and not on the total leveraged exposure; our page on Moon's fees covers the other charges.

How fast does a 1000x bet bust on Moon.com?

A 1000x bet on Moon.com can bust on a 0.1% price move against the user. Moon's leverage guide says that move is enough to lose the entire wager. A bust is the automatic settlement of a bet as lost. Moon's terms warn that a bet at higher leverage can bust rapidly.

Moon's terms tie the size of the needed price move to the leverage level. As leverage rises, a smaller move against the bet is enough to bust it and lose the wager. A risk warning in capital letters in the terms makes the same point: higher leverage means a faster bust. Moon's glossary says higher leverage cuts the price movement needed to reach liquidation, while it raises potential returns. Liquidation, in Moon's help center, is the forced close of a losing position.

Moon's leverage guide lists its risks under a separate heading. Even with the loss capped, the guide says high leverage can lead to liquidation very quickly on small price moves. The guide also says markets can be volatile, and it gives the 0.1% example at 1000x in that context. Moon's terms list the main risks as extreme price volatility, bust risk, technology and cybersecurity risk, and regulatory risk.

Moon's fee guide adds a point about high leverage. It says final proceeds may differ slightly from the displayed value, because market conditions change between viewing and execution. The guide says this applies especially to positions with higher leverage. Moon's terms also say Moon is not liable for losses caused by price volatility. The same clause names network congestion and the acts of third parties beyond Moon's reasonable control.

When does Moon liquidate a position?

Moon liquidates a position the moment it has lost an amount equal to the original wager. Moon's leverage guide calls this the key rule on Moon. Section 8.3 of Moon's terms deals with automatic settlement, which the terms call a bust. At that point the bet is settled as lost and the wager goes to the House.

Moon's terms tie a bust to the market price. When that price reaches the bet's bust price, the bet settles as lost automatically. Moon's glossary describes the same point from the user's side. At the max loss price, the glossary says, the user loses the whole wager and nothing beyond it. The leverage guide describes the max loss price as the exact price at which a position closes automatically at a 100% loss.

A bust caused by an erroneous price, meaning a wrong quoted price, or by another platform issue is handled under Section 7.3(b) of the terms. That clause says a closure, settlement or bust caused by such an issue stands and is final. Moon has no duty to reopen the bet, restore it, re-credit the wager or pay compensation for the loss. Any liability Moon may still have is subject to the exclusions and the cap in Section 16.

Moon's terms also limit how a user may try to avoid a bust. They ban any strategy or method designed to remove or greatly reduce the downside risk on a bet. The terms also ban opposing bets on the same or related markets across more than one account, placed to guarantee an outcome or remove downside risk. That ban covers accounts a user controls and coordination with other people. It applies however the accounts were funded.

Can you lose more than your wager on Moon.com?

No, as of October 2026 Moon.com caps the loss on any bet at the wager. Section 8.6 of Moon's terms says the maximum loss on any bet is always limited to the wager. The section's title states the same limit. Moon's help center repeats that a user cannot lose more than the amount put in.

Moon's terms add a second limit at the account level. They say the account balance will never fall below zero because of placing or settling bets. A separate line says the user will never owe any amount beyond the wager as a result of a bust. The risk warning in capital letters says a user can lose the entire wager rapidly, including through a bust, but never more than the wager.

Moon's leverage guide applies the cap to its worked example of a $100 wager at 1000x. The guide says the user is never responsible for losses beyond the original $100. That holds, according to the guide, even if the market keeps falling after the position is liquidated. The guide's list of benefits describes the same point as limited risk, with the maximum loss always equal to the chosen wager.

Moon's glossary states the cap in more than one entry. The entry on max loss amount calls it the most a user can lose on a position. Another entry says Moon limits the maximum loss to the capital committed to the bet, whatever leverage is used. The glossary adds that the limit holds even with leverage, so a user never loses more than the amount committed.

Where does Moon show the max loss price?

Moon shows the max loss price before a user confirms any bet. The leverage guide lists this display among its benefits. Moon's terms also say the bust price and the payout profile appear before the user confirms the bet. Both depend on the wager and the leverage the user picks.

Moon's terms define the bust price as a price level set by the wager and the leverage of a bet. The definition adds that this level is displayed before the bet is confirmed. Moon's help center gives a related name, the max loss price. The leverage guide says a position closes at that price to protect the user from losing more than the wager.

Moon's leverage guide shows the max loss price in a worked example. The example uses a $100 wager at 1000x leverage. In that example, the guide names $59,940 as the max loss price. The guide says a user can watch this level live on the chart as a red line labeled Max Loss Price. The line lets the user always see exactly where the position would close.

A step in Moon's guide to a first bet asks the user to enter the wager and the desired leverage. The guide says the maximum possible loss is limited to the wager amount. Moon's leverage guide describes the wager as the amount a user is willing to risk, and it calls the wager the maximum possible loss. It describes leverage as how much the user wants to multiply that wager.

Does Moon warn you before a bet busts?

No, Moon's terms do not oblige Moon to warn a user before a bet nears or reaches its bust price. The terms make monitoring open bets the user's sole duty at all times. Moon may send such notices as a courtesy, but the terms do not require it.

Moon's guide to a first bet describes optional risk settings. The guide says Moon provides extra risk management tools to help a user manage a position. One listed tool, Auto Loss $ Close, closes a bet automatically once a set loss percentage is reached. The guide says these settings can help automate bet management and reduce risk exposure. The same guide asks users to understand the risks before opening a position.

Moon also offers Play Money, a simulated balance for practice betting without real money at risk. The help center says Play Money lets a user practice with leverage and risk settings. The same article lists profit and loss controls among the things to practice. Profits and losses in Play Money mode are simulated only, according to that article. The help center describes the mode as a way to try the full Moon betting environment without financial risk.

Moon's terms also let Moon act on open bets. Those terms allow wager limits and bet-size limits at Moon's discretion. Moon may also require a user to reduce or close open bets, for example during extreme price volatility or after regulatory changes. Risk-management concerns are another listed reason. The same clause lets Moon suspend or delist any market or bet type at any time.

Is 1000x leverage on Moon.com gambling or investing?

Moon.com presents 1000x betting as gambling, not as investing. Moon's terms call the service an entertainment and gaming product offered for recreational use. A separate clause says the services are for entertainment and recreational purposes, subject to product terms, betting rules and risk disclosures.

Moon's terms describe bets as high-risk, speculative entertainment products. The same capital-letter warning says bets may not suit all users. The terms tell users to use the service only with funds they can afford to lose. They also tell users to stop if the service is causing financial or personal harm. Moon's leverage guide gives similar advice: use leverage responsibly and risk only money a user can afford to lose.

Moon's terms put the risk assessment on the user. They say use of the services, and any funds deposited or wagered, is entirely at the user's own risk. The terms also say the user alone must judge the merits and risks of the services. Moon's leverage guide says its system is designed to keep risk limited to the amount a user chooses to wager.

Moon's affiliate page tells partners that they earn whether their referred players win or lose. The VIP page offers a reward in instant cash for every loss, and says that cash can be wagered right away. Moon's terms let Moon offer referral rewards and other promotions at its own discretion, under terms published with each offer; our referral code page covers that topic.

Account behavior was not tested. Nobody checked how fast a bust executes in a fast market, whether the shown max loss price matches the actual close, or how the Auto Loss $ Close tool behaves. Payout speed and withdrawal handling were not tested either. Moon's terms say withdrawals depend on identity checks, anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing checks, limits, network fees and processing times. Support quality was also not tested.
