Moon.com KYC: Required Before Deposits and Withdrawals
Short answer
Yes: Moon requires KYC submission before a deposit and KYC approval before a withdrawal.
Moon.com requires you to submit KYC before you deposit and to have it approved before you withdraw. The largest gap is the Review Threshold for extra withdrawal screening, because Moon's terms give no amount and let Moon set it from time to time. Anyone in a Prohibited Jurisdiction named in Moon's terms, anyone on a sanctions list and anyone under the minimum age must not use the service.
Moon.com is a betting site where you wager on whether a market price goes up or down, Moon takes the other side of every bet, and Moon International Limited runs it.

What does Moon.com KYC involve?
Moon.com KYC is an identity check that Moon runs under Section 4 of its terms. KYC stands for know your customer. Section 4.3 carries the heading Identity Verification. Moon can ask for proof of identity, proof of address and, where risk calls for it, evidence of where your money comes from.
One heading in Moon's terms groups account registration, identity verification and account security together. AML/CTF stands for anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing. Moon's terms define AML/CTF Laws as the laws, regulations and guidance in those fields that apply. The identity requests in the terms rest on those laws. Moon can make them at onboarding or at any later time. Source-of-funds or source-of-wealth evidence is requested on a risk-sensitive basis.
Moon's terms also cover list screening. When you accept them, you consent to Moon checking your details against sanctions lists, watch lists and lists of politically exposed persons. You also agree that Moon may use outside service providers to verify your identity and judge fraud risk. Moon may share your information with those providers for these purposes, subject to its Privacy Policy.
Moon International Limited operates Moon.com and is the party to the terms. The company is incorporated in the Union of the Comoros under registration number 16151, with a registered office in Anjouan. Moon's terms name Moon.com as the House, which means the principal counterparty to every bet. Your verification records can outlast your account. The terms let Moon keep your information and transaction records for the period that AML/CTF and other laws require, even after closure.

Does Moon.com require KYC before a deposit?
Yes, Moon.com requires you to submit a KYC check before you can make a deposit. Moon's help center states this rule in its guide to creating and verifying an account. The guide also says you must complete the know-your-customer process to deposit on Moon.
Moon's help center sets out the order of the sign-up steps. To create an account, you must live in a country or region where Moon is available and supported. After you verify your email and submit KYC, you can make your first deposit. The deposit rule speaks of submission, not approval. A separate guide on placing a first bet lists the full sequence: create the account, verify the email, submit KYC, make the first deposit, then bet.
Moon's help center says Moon supports only cryptocurrency deposits at this time. The guide lists the deposit steps in order. First, you open the Wallet or Deposit section. Next, you select the cryptocurrency you want to deposit. Then you copy your deposit address. Moon's terms say a deposit is credited only after the required number of confirmations on the blockchain network, or after cleared funds arrive. Once the deposit is received, the help center says you are ready to place your first bet.
Every deposit on Moon comes with a promise about its origin. Under Moon's terms, you state and warrant that all the funds you deposit come from lawful sources. You also promise not to use the service to launder money, finance terrorism or help any other illegal activity. The terms describe the service as an entertainment and gaming product meant for recreational use. They also say that any funds you deposit or wager are entirely at your own risk.

Does Moon.com require KYC approval before a withdrawal?
Yes, Moon.com requires approved KYC before you can withdraw funds from your account. Moon's help center states the rule in its account guide. Moon's terms add that every withdrawal request is subject to identity verification and to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing checks.
Withdrawal requests on Moon carry several conditions. Alongside identity verification and AML/CTF checks, the terms list minimum and maximum limits, network fees and processing times, as of October 2026. The terms tie those items to what Moon publishes on the platform. The terms treat a chargeback or payment reversal after betting with the deposit as fraud. Moon's terms also let it hold back withdrawals until deposits have fully cleared and can no longer be reversed.
Approved KYC does not guarantee that a withdrawal goes through. Moon's terms let it delay, restrict or refuse a withdrawal when it suspects fraud or a breach of the agreement. The same power applies where the law requires it, or where an authority, a court order or a law enforcement request compels it. Where applicable law requires, Moon may collect and pass on sender and recipient details for transfers above legal thresholds. The terms also let Moon screen withdrawal addresses with blockchain analytics tools.
Unfinished verification can hold up the payout of a remaining balance. Moon's terms promise reasonable efforts to help you withdraw any remaining balance. That help depends on completing any outstanding verification, any legal holds and any fees that you still owe. During an investigation, the terms let Moon pause withdrawals from the accounts concerned. The same clause lets Moon close open bets on those accounts.

How does Moon screen large withdrawals?
As of October 2026, Moon screens withdrawals at or above a Review Threshold, an amount Moon sets and can change from time to time. Moon checks those requests against its own criteria with automated tools before releasing them. The tools include analysis, assisted by artificial intelligence, of your betting and wagering history and account activity.
Section 6.5 of Moon's terms carries the heading Withdrawal Screening and Verification. The general withdrawal clause points readers to it. Moon gives its reason in Section 6.5(a): to protect the platform and other users from the practices in Section 12 of the terms. Section 12 covers prohibited uses and platform integrity. The named examples are automated play under Section 12.2, opposing bets under Section 12.3 and promotion abuse under Section 12.5. Moon's terms describe opposing bets as deliberately betting on opposite sides of the same or related markets across more than one account. The aim they name is to guarantee an outcome or remove downside risk.
After the assessment, Section 6.5(b) gives Moon sole discretion over the outcome. Moon may approve and process the withdrawal. It may instead refer the request for manual review, and processing may be delayed for a reasonable period while that review runs. Moon may also decline the specific request. It can do so where its assessment shows a material risk that your betting breached Section 12 or another part of the agreement.
Section 6.5(c) of Moon's terms says a declined withdrawal does not, by itself, cost you your account balance. You may file a new withdrawal request or ask for a review of the decision through the complaints process in Section 24. If you think Moon delayed or declined a withdrawal by mistake, the terms tell you to contact Moon's support team by email. Moon says it will investigate and correct any error as soon as reasonably practicable. The terms also list a separate email address for complaints.

Which documents does Moon.com accept for KYC?
Moon.com accepts documents from published lists for each type of KYC proof. A help center article lists acceptable proof of identity. Another lists acceptable proof of address. A separate article covers proof of source of income. Moon's terms let it ask for each kind of proof.
The identity article opens with a list of documents that Moon treats as acceptable proof of identity. Moon's address article opens with its own list of documents that count as acceptable proof of address. Under Moon's terms, these proofs can be requested at onboarding or at any later time. A finished check at sign-up does not rule out a fresh request later.
Moon's source-of-income article sets conditions for each document type. Some documents must show regular deposits and withdrawals over a period of time, usually 3 to 6 months. Others must cover a period that matches the funds being deposited. The article gives an example: a bank statement showing a $1,000 deposit on March 15 would need a pay stub from March for $1,000. Where winnings are the source, you need a receipt of winnings. You also need a document, such as a bank statement, that shows where the initially deposited funds came from.
Moon's terms tie these document requests to applicable AML/CTF Laws. Evidence of source of funds or source of wealth is requested on a risk-sensitive basis. Moon's identity article links to a page where you can update your identity verification. A heading in the account guide tells you to complete identity verification, marked as KYC. Moon may share the information you submit with outside providers that verify identity and assess fraud risk.

Who is eligible for a Moon.com account?
Moon.com is open to users aged at least 18, as of October 2026. Where local law sets a higher minimum age for this kind of wagering, that higher age applies. Users must also have full legal capacity. Moon's terms bar Prohibited Persons, a term that covers people on sanctions lists and people linked to countries Moon does not serve.
Section 3 of Moon's terms defines a Prohibited Person. You promise that you are not on a sanctions, denied-persons or watch list kept by a Sanctions Authority. The same promise covers anyone who owns or controls you, or for whom you act. The definition also covers anyone located in, incorporated in, or a national of a Prohibited Jurisdiction. It also covers anyone barred by law from using services of this kind. Sanctions Authorities in the terms include the United Nations Security Council. The list also names the U.S. Department of Commerce, the European Union and His Majesty's Treasury of the United Kingdom.
Section 3.2 of Moon's terms lists Prohibited Jurisdictions, such as the United States and the United Kingdom, plus any country under country-wide sanctions. Each person may register and keep only one Moon account unless Moon agrees otherwise in writing. The age and status promises in Moon's terms continue for as long as you use the service. You also promise that you are not currently self-excluded from Moon.
Moon's terms describe the tools it may use to find Prohibited Persons. They include IP-address detection, geolocation data, device fingerprinting, and VPN and proxy detection. The terms also allow other technical and manual measures for this purpose. Moon's help center adds a residence rule for new accounts. New accounts are only for people who reside where Moon is available and supported.

How does Moon.com protect a verified account?
Moon.com supports two-factor authentication through an authenticator app as an extra layer of account security. Moon also supports passkeys, which its help center describes as faster and more secure login. Two-factor authentication means a second sign-in check, in this case a code from an authenticator app.
Two-factor authentication on Moon covers more than the login screen. Moon's help center says that once you set it up on your account, the additional security step extends to withdrawals as well. The same step applies to any other method that you can use to send funds out of the account. Moon's help center gives the reason as mainly your own protection.
Moon's help center has a separate article about lost two-factor authentication codes. Losing access to your authenticator codes means you need Moon's recovery process. The help center tells you to write, from the email address that is linked to your account, to Moon's dedicated account recovery address. The request must come from that linked email address. Moon then starts a recovery procedure for your two-factor authentication on that account.
Deposits have their own proof step when something goes wrong. If a deposit has not appeared and you need help from Moon's support team, the help center tells you to find your transaction hash first. A transaction hash is the reference code a blockchain gives each transfer. Moon's support team will most likely ask for it. Moon's terms credit a deposit only after the blockchain network shows the required confirmations.

What we could not verify
Moon.com KYC timing, outcomes and support quality remain unconfirmed in this review. Nobody on Moon Legit opened a Moon account, submitted documents, deposited or withdrew for it. The review relies on Moon's own documents and does not show how Moon applies its rules to real accounts.
Moon's documents checked for this review are 26 pages captured on 2026-10-18. They comprise 23 English help center articles and 3 other moon.com pages. None of those pages gives a gaming license number, as of October 2026. Any page Moon added or changed on its site after that date falls outside this review. The help center articles are English versions only. Help center articles in other languages were not checked.
The review did not test how long Moon takes to approve a KYC submission. It did not measure payout speed after approval or how often Moon declines withdrawals. Support quality was not tested, because nobody here contacted Moon's support team. The size of Moon's Review Threshold is unknown to this review. Moon's terms describe it as an amount Moon sets and changes from time to time.
Supported Currencies, in Moon's terms, means cryptocurrencies and, where enabled, fiat currencies listed on the platform. Moon's help center says only cryptocurrency deposits are supported at this time. Whether Moon enables fiat later, and what checks a fiat deposit would bring, could not be checked. The review also cannot show which accounts Moon picks for source-of-funds checks, since the terms place them on a risk-sensitive basis.
