Moon.com Withdrawals: KYC, Screening and Crypto Rules
Short answer
Documented, with gaps: withdrawals need KYC approval and pass screening, and Moon alone sets the review threshold.
Moon.com releases a withdrawal only after KYC approval, and each request passes identity and anti-money laundering checks. The largest gap in Moon's documents is the Review Threshold, the withdrawal amount that triggers extra screening, which Moon sets and can change without stating a figure. Minors and anyone in a country on Moon's prohibited list must not use the service.
Moon.com is a crypto-funded betting site where users stake a wager on whether a market price rises or falls, with Moon taking the other side of every bet, run by Moon International Limited.

How do withdrawals work on Moon.com?
Moon.com treats every withdrawal as a request that must clear several checks. As of October 2026, Moon's terms attach identity verification, AML/CTF checks, minimum and maximum limits, network fees and processing times to each request. AML/CTF means anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing. Moon publishes the limits and times on the Platform.
The terms define the assets that can move in or out of an account as Supported Currencies. That definition covers cryptocurrencies and, where Moon has enabled them, fiat currencies. The list itself is published on the Platform, and the definition refers readers there. Withdrawals and deposits both rely on the same definition. A coin missing from the published list falls outside the currencies the terms recognize for an account.
Withdrawal fees are named in the fee clause of Moon's terms. That clause lists the Performance Fee, betting fees, holding fees, withdrawal fees and any other charges in the Fee Schedule published on the Platform. Moon can amend that schedule from time to time. Holding fees are periodic charges that the terms allow on bets kept open. Fees are taken automatically from the account balance or from payouts, according to the terms.
Moon places these rules in a part of its terms titled Deposits, Withdrawals and Custody of Funds. A note inside that part sends readers on to Section 6.5, headed Withdrawal Screening and Verification. Section 6.5 holds the screening steps for requests at or above a set amount. The general withdrawal rules and the screening rules sit in separate clauses of the same document.

Does Moon.com require KYC before a withdrawal?
Yes, Moon.com requires approved identity checks before any withdrawal. Moon's help center states that KYC approval must come before funds can leave an account. KYC stands for know-your-customer, the identity procedures that Section 4 of Moon's terms describes. Section 4.3 of the terms is headed Identity Verification.
Moon can request several kinds of evidence, not just an identity document. Section 4 says that, in line with AML/CTF laws, Moon may require proof of identity and proof of address. On a risk-sensitive basis, Moon may also ask for evidence of the source of funds or the source of wealth. The terms allow these requests at onboarding or at any later time. The heading for this part reads Account Registration, Verification and Security.
Moon's help center explains which documents it accepts. Separate articles list acceptable proof of identity and acceptable proof of address. Another article covers proof of source of income. That article says an accepted statement must show regular deposits and withdrawals over time, usually 3 to 6 months. Where gambling winnings are the source, it asks for a receipt of winnings plus a document, such as a bank statement, showing where the original deposit came from.
The help center article on identity documents links to a page where a user can update an existing verification. Moon's terms add that Moon may keep account information and transaction records for as long as AML/CTF and other laws require. Account closure does not end that retention, according to the same clause. Moon's terms also bar use from a list of prohibited jurisdictions, which Moon Legit covers on its restricted countries page.

What is the Moon.com withdrawal Review Threshold?
The Review Threshold is a withdrawal amount that Moon sets and can change from time to time. Moon's terms say requests at or above it are assessed against Moon's own criteria before release. Automated tools carry out the assessment, including AI-assisted analysis of the user's betting history and account activity.
Section 6.5 of the terms explains why the screening exists. Moon says it applies enhanced screening to protect the Platform and other users from the practices in Section 12, which covers prohibited uses and platform integrity. The terms name Automated Play in Section 12.2, Opposing Bets in Section 12.3 and Promotion abuse in Section 12.5. Opposing Bets means deliberately placing bets on opposite sides across multiple accounts to guarantee an outcome or remove downside risk.
After the assessment, Moon has discretion over the outcome. Under Section 6.5, it may approve and process the withdrawal. It may instead refer the request for manual review, and processing may be delayed for a reasonable period while the review runs. Moon may also decline the specific request where its assessment shows a material risk that the user's betting breached Section 12 or another part of the agreement.
The terms give no figure for the Review Threshold. They say Moon determines the amount, and the assessment criteria, from time to time. A user cannot work out from the terms whether a given request will reach manual review. The screening clause offers no time limit for that review beyond the phrase reasonable period. Both the trigger amount and the criteria stay within Moon's discretion.

Can Moon.com delay or refuse a withdrawal?
Yes, Moon.com can delay, restrict or refuse a withdrawal in set cases. Moon's terms allow this when Moon suspects fraud or a breach of the agreement. The same power applies where the law requires it, or where a competent authority, a court order or a law enforcement request compels Moon to act.
Investigations can freeze an account's outgoing funds. The terms say that, during an investigation, Moon may pause withdrawals from the accounts concerned. Moon may also close open bets on those accounts while the investigation runs. The clause sets no end date for the pause, and it applies to each account concerned. Deposits not connected to a breach go back to the user where the law allows Moon to return them.
A chargeback is a reversal of a payment by the payer. Moon's terms treat a chargeback or similar reversal of a deposit, made after the funds were used to bet, as fraud and a material breach. In that case Moon may withhold withdrawals until deposits have fully cleared and can no longer be reversed. Moon may also deduct from the balance any winnings paid against a reversed deposit. The terms further allow suspension or closure of the account and a report to payment providers, card schemes and authorities.
Where the law requires it, Moon may collect and pass on originator and beneficiary details for transfers above applicable thresholds. The same clause lets Moon screen withdrawal addresses with blockchain analytics tools. A withdrawal address is the external wallet that receives the funds. Moon's terms also require each user to warrant that deposited funds come from lawful sources. The user also promises not to use the service to launder money, finance terrorism or support other illegal activity.

What happens if Moon declines a withdrawal?
A declined withdrawal on Moon.com does not, by itself, cost the user the account balance. Section 6.5 of Moon's terms says a decline under the screening clause causes no forfeiture on its own. The user may file a fresh withdrawal request or seek a review through Section 24, the complaints section.
Moon's terms give a direct route for suspected mistakes. A user who believes a withdrawal was delayed or declined in error can write to support@moon.com. Moon says it will investigate and correct any error as soon as reasonably practicable. The clause gives no fixed deadline for that work. Moon Legit did not contact this address and cannot report how quickly it answers.
Formal complaints have their own address in Moon's terms: complaints@moon.com. The screening clause sends users who want a review of a declined withdrawal to Section 24, the complaints section. That review route sits next to the user's right to submit a new withdrawal request. The terms present the new request and the review as separate options. The complaints address differs from the support address, which handles suspected errors.
Moon's terms send disputes that are not resolved informally to arbitration. The UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules apply to that process. The seat of arbitration is Moroni, in the Union of the Comoros. Comoros law governs the agreement and any claim connected with it, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. A withdrawal dispute that informal steps do not settle falls within this clause, which covers any claim relating to the Services.

How do deposits work on Moon.com?
Moon.com takes cryptocurrency deposits only, according to Moon's help center. A user must verify an email address and submit KYC before the first deposit. Moon's terms define Supported Currencies to include fiat currencies where Moon enables them. The help center still names crypto as the only deposit method at this time.
The help center lists the deposit steps in order. A user opens the Wallet or Deposit section. Next comes the choice of cryptocurrency to deposit. The user then copies the deposit address shown. Once Moon has received the deposit, the account is ready for a first bet. Moon's guide to placing a bet repeats the full sequence: create the account, verify the email, submit KYC and make the first deposit.
Moon credits a deposit only after the blockchain network has confirmed it. Moon's terms say the deposit needs the required number of confirmations on the relevant network, or receipt of cleared funds where that applies. Where a deposit has not shown up, the help center asks users to find the transaction hash first. A transaction hash is the reference code of a blockchain transfer, and Moon's support team will most likely ask for it.
Moon's terms put the risk of deposited money on the user. A clause written in capital letters says the use of the service, and any funds deposited or wagered, are entirely at the user's own risk. The terms describe the service as an entertainment and gaming product for recreational use. They also say it is not an investment, trading, brokerage or financial advisory service.

Do promotions affect Moon.com withdrawals?
Promotional funds on Moon.com must meet a wagering requirement before withdrawal. Section 10.2 of Moon's terms says such funds, and any winnings from them, must be used to place and settle bets a specified number of times. Only after that does the resulting balance become eligible for withdrawal, unless the specific promotion terms say otherwise.
Promotions carry other limits in the same part of the terms. Section 10.4 says promotions have no cash value except where the terms expressly say so. Moon may also withdraw or change a promotion at any time before it is credited to the account. After crediting, the wagering requirement in Section 10.2 decides when the resulting balance can leave the account.
Section 12.5 of Moon's terms names promotion abuse as a prohibited use. The banned conduct includes depositing only or mainly to extract promotional value. It also includes claiming a promotion across multiple accounts or together with other users. Structuring bets, such as low-risk, offsetting or matched play, purely to meet a wagering requirement or to cash out promotional funds is also banned. The clause applies without limiting Section 10.
Money credited by mistake or through a breach can be taken back. Where Moon voids or adjusts a bet, any payout, profit or balance credited from it is repayable on demand and may be deducted from the account. The terms also keep Moon's rights to reclaim payouts, winnings or promotional value paid in error or obtained in breach, under Sections 7.3, 10 and 12. Moon Legit explains referral codes on a separate page.

Is money held on Moon.com protected?
Money held on Moon.com carries no guarantee of full recovery, according to Moon's terms. The terms say Moon.com is neither a trust company nor a licensed custodian. Moon's measures for keeping funds separate do not guarantee full recovery after insolvency, a security breach or another loss event, the terms add.
Moon.com does not hold any underlying asset for its users. The terms say the Platform offers bets on price movements only, with no purchase, sale, custody or transfer of the asset behind a market. In Moon's terms, the House is Moon itself, standing as principal counterparty on each bet. Payouts on winning bets come from Moon, and Moon keeps the wager on a losing bet.
When an account closes, Moon's terms still deal with the money left in it. Moon says it will use reasonable efforts to help the user withdraw any remaining balance. That help is subject to completing any outstanding verification. Legal holds and fees still owed can also stand in the way of the final withdrawal. The clause promises effort, not a set date for the payout.
Two-factor authentication is an extra security step that Moon supports through an authenticator app. Once it is set up, Moon's help center says the extra step also applies to withdrawals and any other way of sending funds. Moon describes that extension as mainly for the user's own protection. Moon Legit covers passkeys, account recovery and other controls on its security page. The operator, Moon International Limited, is reviewed on Moon Legit's page about whether Moon.com is legit.

What we could not verify about Moon.com withdrawals
Moon Legit could not verify how Moon.com handles withdrawals in a live account. Nobody at Moon Legit used a Moon account for this article, so payout speed, support quality and real screening outcomes stay untested. The findings rest on 26 Moon pages retrieved on 2026-10-18: 23 English help center articles and 3 other moon.com pages.
The terms name minimum and maximum withdrawal limits, network fees and processing times, but they point to figures published on the Platform. Moon Legit did not record those figures. Nobody checked how long a withdrawal takes from request to arrival in an external wallet. Nobody checked whether network fees are passed on at cost or with a margin. The size of any withdrawal fee is also unconfirmed.
The Review Threshold amount remains unknown. Moon's terms leave both the amount and the assessment criteria to Moon, and both can change. Moon Legit cannot say how often requests go to manual review or how long a reasonable period lasts. The rate at which Moon declines screened requests is also unknown, as is the share of declines that users later overturn through a complaint.
Holding fees are another open point for balances. Section 8.5 of Moon's terms says bets kept open may face periodic holding fees, charged as set out in product specifications that may change. Moon's documents do not mention a holding-fee rate or a charging interval. Moon Legit cannot say how much an open bet costs to hold before the balance is withdrawn.
